- A little tip : If an old decal turned yellow, you can try to expose it to the sun for a few days.
- Work on a towel to avoid that inadvertantly a decal sticks to the working table.
- Cut the decal sheet into sections of not more than 10 items.
- Soak one section in tap water for one or two seconds (more for old decals).
- Lay it to rest on the towel until completely uncurled (about one minute).
- Slide design from backing paper onto chosen surface and gently wipe over surface with a damp sponge to eliminate any trapped air bubble.
- On uneven surface, using warm to hot water softens the decal. On very uneven surfaces, you can carefully use diluted methylated spirit with a fine brush to soften even more the decal, but don't leave it in contact too long with spirit as the decal could get dammaged.
- Allow the decal to dry enough, eventually you can help drying faster with a hair dryer.
- It is possible, if prefered, to varnish the model after the decals have been placed. Depending on the varnish used, it is recommended to test for any unwanted creeping effect. Always apply varnish by thin layers
